Badlands Burgers in Grants looks CLOSED

Despite the acclaim from its fame as the best green chile cheeseburger in the state, a visit to Badlands Burgers in Grants today showed nothing but an empty dining room, piled up mail, and a disconnected phone number.

Bummer.
I believe the health department ( Cibola Co. ) closed them down….

Yup. Deader than a doornail.
Tried to go there over Labor Day on the way to Sedona, and the place was dark. Went to El Cafecito instead, which may be the best that Grants has to offer. The nice folks there told me that their business had a small upward blip when Badlands bombed. Probably caused by folks like me trying to see what all that GCCB hullabaloo was all about. Guess I’ll never know.
Sigh.
