So Many New Restaurants, So Little Thyme
July 12th, 2010
Seriously, I think thyme is an underrated herb. But anyway, I’m excited about the slew of restaurants that are brazenly opening up as we try to shake off this recession.
On my radar slash hit list in recent weeks and upcoming months:
What else? New stuff I haven’t yet spotted? Lay it on me!

Hi 5 Star Burgers is new to town, a local restaurant from Taos. They actually have a Thyme Chicken Salad on special for July!

I didn’t see a mention of Zorba’s on Montgomery next to Il Vicino but my one experience was so much less than wonderful that I am not sure it is worth mentioning.

Jim, I hope things pick up for Zorba’s – they are owned by the much-adored Olympia Cafe folks.
dismas, thanks! I had just spotted the cafe on Google Maps and wondered what it was about.
Natalie, thanks for the 5 Star referral – I’ve been there a few times already.

Hi Andrea
As a fellow fire-eater, you might want to give Tickles & Snooks Wings N Things Armageddon Challenge a shot. It’s six wings in six minutes with a six minute after-burn which starts after you’re done with the six wings–if you get that far. Few people–about one in seven–get that far.

Gil, I think I could do it. Problem for me lately is that eating fire does not work well with running. Used to be OK if I would have fiery food when I wasn’t going to run for at least a day, but now I run every day….. Hmm.
